Glynne Butt – Musical Director
Glynne Butt is the Musical Director of the Albert Park Singers.
She has been active in Abingdon musical circles for many years as a pianist and viola player as well as an experienced choral director.
Glynne sang with Oxford’s prestigious Schola Cantorum and later with The Cherwell Singers, before becoming Director of The Crescent Singers in Abingdon. She also enjoyed a short spell with Wantage Male Voice Choir and is currently in charge of the music at St. Michael’s Church, whose popular Christmas Eve carol service is a regular highlight of Abingdon’s Christmas calendar.
Her primary aim, she says, is for everyone, of whatever musical experience, or none, to enjoy the pleasure of singing, but alongside that, also to experience the satisfaction of working together to improve as a choir and of reaching a standard of which everyone can be proud.
